Welcome to the Wendell Phillips Academy High School Website |

Phillips is a High
School Transformation and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) school that provides a positive learning environment through
a rigorous academic curriculum promoting literacy, and inquiry-based
learning. The school also features a Junior Air Force Reserve
Officers Training Corps (JAFROTC) program and a state-of-the-art
health clinic to serve the needs of its students.
Phillips is also a CPS Community School . Our community and university partners include; Centers For New Horizons (lead not for profit partner), Ada S. McKinley Educational Talent Search, University of Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology, Dawson Skills Center Educational Talent Search, Carnegie Learning, Field Museum, Kaplan, Rush University Medical Center and Project Strive. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered in U.S. History, environmental science and English language and psychology. Honors courses are offered in 15 subjects. Education To Careers (ETC) programs are offered in fashion design, graphic communications, and architectural drafting. Phillips also features high quality student development and Service Learning programs, and is a CPS Student Development demonstration school.
Phillips High School is
also home to Wells Preparatory Elementary School and Achievement
Academy.
